Job summary

Tulsa County is seeking a Parks Maintenance worker to perform semiskilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and related tasks in county parks and facilities.

The role requires operating tractors, power tools, painting, fence repairs, landscaping, and chemical applications, with heavy manual labor and safety compliance. A valid Oklahoma driver’s license and defensive driving within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of the eighth grade and over one year of experience as a laborer performing maintenance and/or construction work.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and perform heavy manual labor for extended periods.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and defensive driving within 6 months of hire.
  • Must read chemical labels and operate chemical application equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform semiskilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry and other maintenance tasks.
  • Lay water services pipes and unclog sewers.
  • Operate tractors with mowing attachments and other light equipment; use power tools.
  • Paint facilities, repair fences, plant and maintain landscape; spray pesticides and herbicides.
  • Clean and maintain equipment; assist in concrete work and site cleanup.
