Job summary

Mills Auto Group in Hampton, VA is seeking an experienced automotive tag and title clerk. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to handling vehicle registration processes.

You will manage title processing, registrations, and related accounting tasks with a focus on accuracy and customer service. Candidates should have admin experience, familiarity with DMV workflows, and, ideally, experience with tag and title software.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of title processes.
• Experience with tag & title software (VITU/Titletec) preferred but not required.
• Proficient with standard computer and accounting software.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Title Processing: Prepare and submit legal transfer documents, title applications, and trade-in reassignments to the DMV.
• Registration & Tagging: Issue temporary license plates, handle new/used vehicle registrations, and order permanent plates.
• Compliance: Verify all paperwork is flawless, ensure funds are cleared, and confirm that proper lienholder information is recorded.
• Accounting & Record Keeping: Reconcile title-related accounting schedules, maintain outstanding title logs, and prepare customer and bank refund checks.
