Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, including oil changes, tire maintenance, and inspections, while delivering excellent customer service. You will work in the tire and service department and keep a clean, safe workspace.

You may provide advice on recommended repairs and help sell services. A valid driver's license, willingness to learn, and availability to work varied shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Continuously update technical knowledge in training sessions.
• Perform oil changes and filter replacements.
• Install and perform tire maintenance and balance.
• Replace batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs.
• Repair flat tires and replace wipers.
• Stock and unload tires; assist other technicians; report problems to management.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and follow safety rules.
