Pep Boys is hiring full-time General Service Technicians to join Team Mavis at our Chicago, IL centers. We offer paid training, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and clear opportunities to grow.

As a General Service Technician, you’ll perform essential tire services and maintenance, including mounting, balancing, oil changes, fluid checks, and basic inspections, with on-the-job training and advancement potential. A one-time $800 new hire bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on automotive environment.
• Have a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality service.
• Previous automotive experience is a plus, but not required. Paid training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
• Performing flat tire repairs.
• Completing oil and filter changes.
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids.
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Following established safety and service procedures.
• Helping ensure quality service and timely completion of customer vehicles.
