Job summary

Radius Recycling is seeking a General Laborer I to join the production team in Moss Landing, CA. You will help operate in an auto salvage yard, handle vehicles safely, and contribute to core and scrap production while ensuring environmental compliance.

The role requires physical work outdoors, weekend availability, and strict adherence to safety protocols; benefits include health plans, 401(k) with match, and paid time off starting with your first check.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including safety messages, labels and hazard communications.
• Ability to work required hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for a full shift.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times and promote the Pick-n-Pull Safety Culture; adhere to safety requirements and wear PPE as required.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, modeling professionalism and compliance.
• Safely remove Freon, power steering fluid, power brake fluid, batteries, excess garbage and other materials per procedures.
• Properly extract gasoline, coolant, waste oil and other fluids and components per procedures.
• Position vehicles on wheel stands to provide customers with safe access to sellable parts and restore area for next vehicle set.
• Loosen motor and transmission mounts and remove remaining tires and core items.
• Remove heater cores, copper wire and other designated materials; maintain the crush pad area and ensure environmental compliance.
• Dismantle engines and transmissions, harvest wires and other materials; sort commodities.
• Operate tire machine to separate tires, remove weights and stems, classify tires and prep rims for shipment.
• Harvest dismantled core materials, remove debris and identify safety hazards; perform other duties as needed.
• Assist customers courteously and prepare Gaylord boxes and pallets for shipment; complete regulatory logs and inspect equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
