Job summary

Fred Anderson Toyota of Asheville, part of the Anderson Automotive Group, seeks a General Sales Manager to drive profitability in new- and used-vehicle profit centers. You will lead department managers, forecast sales, profits and expenses, and set monthly objectives with the GM.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of dealership leadership, strong MS Office skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage inventory, promotions and staff performance in a fast-paced market.

Qualifications

• College degree is preferred or equivalent work experience considered.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Word, Excel and other computer applications.
• Must be well organized, able to establish priorities and handle multiple projects with minimum supervision.
• Excellent typing and telephone skills.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent verbal communication skills.
• 10+ years dealership experience in leadership capacity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, supervises and monitors the performance of the new- and used-vehicle department managers.
• Projects annual dealership forecast: unit sales, gross profits, expenses and operating profits for the new- and used-sales departments.
• Sets annual and monthly objectives for sales, gross profits, expenses and operating profit.
• Determines inventory levels and orders vehicles for new and used vehicles.
• Establishes standards for displaying, merchandising and maintaining vehicles.
• Creates procedures for quick disposal of overage vehicles.
• Reviews monthly forecasts, commission sheets, productivity reports and profit performance with the GM.
• Shows insight into local market conditions and advertising plans.
