Job description

Auto Punch Press Operator

Position Reporting To

Manufacturing Manager - NEMA

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Understand and follow all ABB safety policies, training, and hazard communication information. Use proper PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, cut-resistant gloves, and safety sleeves as required.
  2. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  3. Frequently grip with hands, turn, push, bend, reach above shoulder level, and pull.
  4. Work long periods standing or walking to meet production demands.
  5. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and equipment like electric chain hoists, pneumatic shears, wire twisters, pallet jacks, and controls, ensuring proper setup and die jam clearance.
  6. Follow written and verbal instructions, read and interpret work orders, blueprints, inventory tags, and shipping labels.
  7. Maintain regular attendance, arrive on time, and work scheduled hours, including overtime on short notice.
  8. Perform these tasks safely without compromising safety of self or coworkers.
  9. Perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours daily, 5 days a week.
  10. Report any inability to perform essential functions to supervisor or HR, and collaborate on reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
  1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds manually.
  2. Complete necessary training on job steps and operating equipment.
  3. Know the location of Emergency Stops and verify their functionality before operation.
  4. Check and verify work forms, inspect parts for defects, and ensure quality standards.
  5. Ensure proper material feeding, lubrication, and monitor press operations.
  6. Use air wire twisters for wiring stacks and document non-conforming materials with a Red Tag.
  7. Clean and maintain equipment and work area after use.
  8. Work safely, report injuries or hazards immediately.
  9. Possess valid work authorization for employment in the US.
