Job Description

Branch Claims Representative investigates, evaluates, and determines the appropriate disposition of all types of claims arising out of the Company’s business. This role also provides service to agents, insureds, and others during the handling of those claims to their conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims
• Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational knowledge of Company insurance products
• Learn and comply with claim handling procedures
• Develop skills in claim negotiations and settlements
• Effectively service the needs of agents, insureds, and others
• Meet with people involved with claims, sometimes outside of the office environment
• Use technology-based information for reference, enter information into computer systems, and develop specialized skills in property estimating, auto estimating, and computer-based programs
• Obtain and maintain appropriate adjuster’s license(s) as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling
• Minimum of one year of insurance claims experience (may be waived based on prior education and/or experience)
• Ability to write reports and compose correspondence
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations, including geometry and financial analysis
• Ability to effectively deal with a diverse group of individuals
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security
• Strong organizational skills, multi‑tasking, and independent decision‑making

Compensation

Base pay range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually. Additional bonus opportunities may be available.
