Job summary

Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment seeks an Auto Paint Prep Technician to prep and sand utility bodies for painting under supervision. You will sand, wash, and condition parts, maintain a clean work area, and support preventative maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements include basic mechanical aptitude, ability to use hand and power tools, and 1–3 years in automotive or heavy vehicle prep. High school diploma or trade school certification is expected.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

As an Auto Paint Prep Technician you will be responsible for prepping and sanding utility bodies and dump bodies for painting This will be done under the supervision and instruction of the Branch Manager You will work towards completing goals according to Dejanas standards by Sanding washing and conditioning parts as necessary Light bodywork may be requiredUpkeeping work areas and equipment which may include preventative maintenance tasksInspecting product before during after process to ensure specifications are being metCommunicating with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problemsPerforming all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety proceduresMaintaining a clean and safe work areaOther duties as assigned or required

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS

Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to do precision workAbility to operate hand tools and power toolsDetail oriented and organized; self motivated and able to meet manufacturing deadlines in a fast paced environmentCapable of expertly prioritizing and multi taskingEducation & Experience High school diploma equivalent or trade school certification required1 3 years experience in the preparation of automotive or heavy vehicleequipment in a manufacturing industrial or automotive body shop

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Most of the workday is spent standing and walking on concrete floors Frequent bending kneeling reaching pushing pulling and lifting are required The ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required Must be able to safely use hand tools and power tools and perform work requiring good hand eye coordination and manual dexterityMust be able to stand walk and move around the production area for extended periods of time Good vision and hearing are required to safely perform work and communicate with coworkersThis position works indoors in a manufacturing and warehouse environment Work is performed in production and installation areas and may require both sitting and standing throughout the dayTemperatures may vary throughout the facility depending on the work area Exposure to hazardous fumes from paint and paint mixing ingredients noise dust and other conditions commonly found in a manufacturing environment should be expected
