Job summary

Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment in Town of Smithtown, NY seeks a Hydraulic Systems Technician to assemble trucks and cargo vans per engineered specifications. You will read blueprints and install hydraulic PTO and auto electrical systems while meeting production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Five years of related manufacturing experience or technical school training.
• Able to read and interpret advanced blueprints diagrams engineering drawings specifications bill of materials.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install equipment and products per SOPs.
• Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams and engineering drawings.
• Perform hydraulic PTO and auto electrical installations.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure standards.
• Meet production deadlines; document work accurately.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and comply with safety procedures.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

• As a Hydraulic Systems Technician you will be responsible for performing the assembly of trucks and cargo vans
• The assembly must be completed according to the goals set by the Branch Manager
• You will do this by Assembling advanced equipment and products under close supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Reading interpreting and following advanced blueprints diagrams engineering drawings specifications bill of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
• Meeting production schedule deadlines as designated by the Production Manager
• Performing quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
• Identifying product defects and documenting them
• Performing all necessary documentation in a timely manner
• Conferring with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems
• Reworking andor repairing assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
• Performing all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS

• Ability to assemble and install equipment and products under close supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Ability to read interpret and follow advanced blueprints diagrams engineering drawings specifications bill of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assembleinstall equipment and products
• Ability to perform hydraulic PTO and auto electrical installations
• Ability to perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions while remembering multiple tasks
• Good vision detail oriented and organized; self motivated and able to meet manufacturing deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Advanced mechanical andor electrical skills
• Must have own tools
• Ability to operate hand and power tools
• Education & Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent Five years of related experience in a manufacturing environment or technical school

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Most of the workday is spent standing and walking on concrete floors
• Frequent bending kneeling reaching pushing pulling and lifting are required
• The ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required
• Must be able to safely use hand tools and power tools and perform work requiring good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Must be able to stand walk and move around the production area for extended periods of time
• Good vision and hearing are required to safely perform work and communicate with coworkers
• This position works indoors in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
• Work is performed in production and installation areas and may require both sitting and standing throughout the day
• Temperatures may vary throughout the facility depending on the work area
• Exposure to noise dust and other conditions commonly found in a manufacturing environment should be expected
