Job description

We are seeking a full-time Auto OEM Production Planner 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing semi-complex supply chain management related to materials planning, purchasing, and manufacturing, and will contribute to the development of planning procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Facilitates, coordinates, and project manages Automotive OEM programs, covering all planning disciplines (NPI, Demand, GSC, Production Planning, and Service/Spares Planning) concerning materials planning, purchasing, and manufacturing.
2. Utilizes and understands supply chain systems and processes used by the area.
3. Owns accountability for department KPIs.
4. Analyzes data for decision-making, makes recommendations, and commands supply chain processes within assigned responsibilities.
5. Identifies issues, explores solutions, and provides timely responses.
6. Contributes to team discussions, guides Planner 1 associates, and manages own workload by prioritizing tasks.
7. Maintains cleanliness zone requirements: Always wears Garmin-provided personal protective equipment, including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear), to minimize ESD risk and meet standards.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Demonstrates all competencies of Planner 1.
• Understands and applies best practices in warehouse, manufacturing, and service processes.
• Effective communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal—capable of engaging with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.
• Certification such as CPIM or CPM.
• Over 5 years of experience in material management, production planning, purchasing, or distribution, preferably in electronics manufacturing.
• Project management or team facilitation experience.
