Job summary

Manheim (a Cox Automotive company) in New Jersey is seeking an Auto Maintenance Tech I to perform repairs and routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles. The role offers a sign-on bonus and competitive benefits.

You will gain hands-on experience with oil changes, brake work, electrical systems, tires, and safety inspections, while following approved procedures and safety guidelines. This on-site position requires a valid driver's license and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related work experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
• Perform auto maintenance duties, including oil and filter changes, fuel filter changes, transmission flush, spark plugs, and vehicle inspection.
• Perform battery testing, maintenance and replacement; test and repair starting and charging electrical systems.
• Perform various repairs including tires, safety inspections and interior/exterior components.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering and suspension systems.
• Evacuate and recharge the AC system.
• Maintenance on equipment.
• Use approved vendors to obtain parts.
• May up fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
• Comply with applicable procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash.
