Job summary

K2 Claims Services, LLC is seeking an Auto & Liability Examiner to handle commercial/personal lines liability and auto damage claims in a remote role. The candidate will manage a diverse caseload, coordinate appraisers, review estimates, and oversee litigation with counsel when needed.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in claims, a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and solid MS Word/Excel/Outlook skills. Licensing to be obtained and travel for training or mediations may be required.

About the RoleK2 Claims Services, LLC ("K2 Claims") is actively seeking a motivated Auto & Liability Examiner with experience handling both commercial and/or personal lines’ liability and property damage claims with expansion into lower exposure general liability claims.

As a third-party administrator (TPA), K2 Claims services specialty programs across property, general liability, auto, professional liability and workers-compensation. This is an remote role opportunity to join a well-established, growing company and contribute to building a world-class TPA.

Key Responsibilities

• Claim Handling: Manage claims in strict accordance with state-specific insurance regulations and K2 Claims' Best Practices.
• Diverse Caseload: Manage a broad spectrum of claims ranging fromfirst- and third-party auto property damage and third-party liability claims tolower exposure dog bites, slip/falls, wrongful evictions, customer complaints and general business disputes.
• Caseload Management:assignment through resolution, including assigning and directing appraisers, reviewing estimates and supplements, evaluating total losses, and resolving loss of use and rental claims.
• Litigation Management: Oversee lower exposure litigated cases, including referring to counsel, establishing litigation plans and budgets, and providing settlement authority.
• Coverage Analysis: Analyze policy coverage and draft detailed reservation of rights and/or coverage declination letters.
• Large Loss Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management and clients regarding claim status, recommended reserves, and strategic plans of action.
• Negotiation: Effectively negotiate settlements within assigned authority.
• Risk Evaluation: Analyze risk transfer options and determine insurance priority.
• Referrals: Identify and refer appropriate claims to subrogation or the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of commercial and/or personal lines liability and auto experience.
• 1 year of general liability experience preferred but not required.
• Industry Background: Previous experience in a TPA or insurance carrier environment handling diverse programs.
• Licensing: Ability to obtain and maintain all required state adjuster licenses.
• Work Schedule: Ability to work M-F, 40 hours per week.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a dedicated focus on customer service.
• Travel: Must be flexible for occasional business travel for training, mediations, and/or trials.
