Job summary

Safelite is seeking skilled Auto Glass Technicians to perform repair and replacement work at shop or mobile locations. You will recalibrate ADAS systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety alongside quality service.

Job description

Provide vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop
Perform work efficiently with focus on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service
Clean customer vehicles after every job
Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing
Operate Safelite tools and technologies, including True Seal, Ezi-Wire, Glass Table System, chemicals, work order and customer administration systems, and Mobile Resource Management technology
Safely operate company and customer vehicles
Communicate with scheduled customers in person, via text, and by phone
Present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services
At Senior and Master levels, provide technical resources, support technician development, share best practices, and assist with coaching and mentoring
Perform other assigned duties
Comply with company policies and standards

Requirements
  • High School Diploma GED/Equivalent Preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other license(s) required by federal, state and local laws to operate a company vehicle
  • Proven experience as an Auto Glass Technician (2+ years preferred)
  • Technician: Typically 1+ years of vehicle glass installation, repair, replacement, recalibration, or closely related automotive service experience
  • Senior Technician: Typically 3+ years of vehicle glass experience with demonstrated technical proficiency, quality performance, and independent operation
  • Master Technician: Typically 5+ years of vehicle glass experience with advanced technical expertise and demonstrated mentoring, coaching, or training capability
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces; bend and twist body
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with federal, state and local laws
  • Agreement to be monitored via in-cab vehicle safety camera/video surveillance technology
  • Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions and extreme temperatures
  • Ability to work with chemicals, including flammable chemicals, as applicable
  • Ability to work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times
  • Proficiency using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting
  • Problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret English and technical directions
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and follow uniform and PPE policies
  • Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under pressure
