Job summary

Safelite is seeking an Experienced Auto Glass Technician to deliver high‑quality glass repair and replacement services both in shop and via mobile units. You’ll use advanced tools, handle complex recalibrations, and ensure safe operation of vehicles and equipment.

The role focuses on safety, service, and ownership in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll work with cutting‑edge technology and receive comprehensive training, with benefits, PTO, and tuition support included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required to operate company vehicle.
• Safelite SafeTech certification required.
• 2+ years of auto glass experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop.
• Recalibrating automotive safety systems and diagnostic testing.
• Operate Safelite tools and technologies including True Seal, Ezi-Wire, GTS and MRM systems.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles during the workday.
• Communicate with customers in person, via text, and on the phone; promote Safelite services.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards.

A Brief Overview

As an Experienced Auto Glass Technician, you'll serve on the front line of the Safelite customer experience, bringing advanced technical expertise and a strong sense of ownership to every job. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who thrives in a fast-paced, hands‑on environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional service. You will leverage your deep industry knowledge, along with Safelite's cutting‑edge tools, training, and technology, to perform complex repairs, replacements, and recalibrations - both in-shop and through our Mobile Glass Shop services.

What You Will Do

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality and exceptional customer service. Clean customer vehicles after every job.


• Recalibrating automotive safety systems, including trouble‑shooting and completing diagnostic testing.


• Proficiently operate Safelite's tools and technologies, including: True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals (as required bv the \"Safelite Way of Fitting\", work order and customer administration systems, and Safelite's handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.


• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.


• Communicate with all scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services to customers.


• Performs other duties as assigned

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma GED/Equivalent Preferred


• Valid state-issued driver's license any other license(s) (as required by federal, state and local laws) to operate a company vehicle. Required


• Safelite SafeTech™ certification Required


• Proven experience as an Auto Glass Technician (2+ years preferred)

Experience Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older. Required

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds


• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body


• Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively


• Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and agreement to be monitored via in‑cab vehicle safety camera / video surveillance technology


• Maintains professionalism and passion for providing outstanding customer service and exceeding customer expectations


• Ability to safely work outside (in a wide variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures) for extended periods


• Ability to work with chemicals (including but not limited to flammable chemicals), as applicable per the \"Safelite Way of Fitting\"


• Ability to work scheduled days, with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer’s needs


• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and trouble‑shoot issues


• Problem‑solving and ability to trouble‑shoot issues, independently and collaboratively


• Ability to read, write and interpret the English language and technical directions


• Ability to communicate orally (via phone) and written (via computer or other electronic means)


• Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to Company uniform and PPE policies


• Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and/or opposition (e.g., time pressure and productivity measures)
