Job summary

Main Street Auto in Hickory, NC is seeking a skilled General Tire & Lube Technician. You’ll handle essential maintenance services that keep customer vehicles safe and running smoothly as part of a professional, high-performing team.

Schedule is Monday-Friday with no weekend work. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and strong customer service with opportunities for training and career growth within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as Tire & Lube Technician (preferred but not required).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely operate shop tools and equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail; good time-management and ability to work efficiently.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform tire rotations, installations, repairs, and balancing.
• Complete oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid services.
• Conduct basic vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
• Assist with wheel alignments and verify proper handling and tire wear.
• Maintain accurate service records, including parts used and time spent.
• Provide friendly, helpful service when assisting customers with tire or maintenance questions.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
