Job summary

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Sergeant to assist with the daily functions of the Sheriff’s Office in Fort Worth. You will supervise law enforcement personnel, oversee the Tarrant Regional Auto Crimes Task Force, and coordinate investigations, enforcement, prevention, and education activities, ensuring grant compliance.

Strong leadership, excellent communication, and knowledge of state statutes are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum four (4) full-time consecutive years of law enforcement experience with at least two (2) years in criminal investigations.
• Texas Basic Peace Officer Certification required; Intermediate preferred and licensed as a Peace Officer in Texas.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Schedules assigned subordinate personnel and adheres to duty hours.
• Supervises operational activities of subordinate personnel.
• Administers guidance for criminal investigators to achieve grant goals.
• Monitors unit caseloads and major investigations.
• Notifies senior managers of major investigations and issues in a timely manner.
• Maintains compliance with all Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures.
• Generates reports and documents using information systems.
• Testifies in court as required.
• Coordinates regional intelligence-sharing efforts.
