Job summary

Zurich North America in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Adjuster to handle auto bodily injury claims and work with internal and external attorneys to resolve complex cases.

You will establish reserves, assess damages, and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the claims cycle while maintaining excellent customer service and timely resolutions. This position offers hybrid remote work and competitive total rewards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 2+ years in Claims/Insurance OR Zurich Apprenticeship with 2+ years in Claims/Insurance OR High School Diploma with 4+ years in Claims/Insurance OR completion of Zurich Claims Training with 2+ years in Claims/Insurance; must obtain adjuster license(s).
• Microsoft Office experience required.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Handle auto bodily injury claims with different levels of complexity.
• Work closely with attorneys internally and externally
• Partner with attorneys on complex claims cases
• Work to have a timely resolution to claims by developing case strategy; developing a case evaluation; escalating issues as appropriate.
• Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing review throughout claims cycle within authority limit by estimating and validating value of claims.
• Assess damages by calculating applicable damages or range of damages allowed by law.
• Ensure customer service by proactively communicating information; responding to inquiries; following customer protocols and may participating in customer marketing efforts.
• Ensure legal compliance by following state and federal laws and regulations and internal control requirements.
• Refer claim to subrogation and fraud teams by identifying potential subrogation and fraud.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area ORCompletion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area AND
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
• Microsoft Office experience
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in auto claims handling, insurance claims, or related customer service field. Understanding of auto insurance policies, coverage, and state regulations.
• Commercial insurance experience and/or prior auto bodily injury claims handling experience.
• Customer service experience
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience collaborating across work groups Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
• Understands claims adjustment process and possesses ability to determine scope/exposure for losses
• Understands the use of vendors and how litigation strategies are developed
• Understands and applies financial and actuarial/reserving concepts.
• Familiarity with negotiation strategies and experience in suggesting alternative approaches

The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed salary range for this position is $49,500 - $81,000, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
