Job summary

Ideal Tridon Group in Smyrna, Tennessee is hiring a 2nd Shift Auto Box Setup Operator. You will set up and run auto labeling and packaging machines, ensuring correct labels, cartons, and packaging configurations for production orders.

Responsibilities include adjusting machine settings, monitoring quality, performing light maintenance, maintaining records, and collaborating with the production team to meet targets.

Qualifications

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production records of machine settings and output.
  • Follow safety protocols and keep work areas clean and safe.
  • Collaborate with team to identify improvements and meet targets.

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Auto Box Setup Operator to join our team at Ideal Tridon!

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Shift: 2nd 3:00pm - 11:00pm
Hourly Rate: $19.00 - $20.79 + $1.00 Shift Differential
Job Summary

The Auto Label /Auto Pack Setup Operator will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating the auto box and other automated packaging machines and packaging the completed product.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up and configure automatic labeling and packaging machines, including label applicators, case sealers, cartons, and other equipment, according to product specifications, job orders, and safety guidelines.
  • Loads packaging materials, such as labels, containers, cartons into the machine feeders or hoppers, and adjusts machine settings, including speed and pressure, to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
  • Monitors production processes, including label application, filling, sealing, coding, and packing, to verify accuracy, quality, and adherence to production schedules and standards.
  • Conducts regular quality checks and inspections of labeled and packaged products to identify defects, misprints, or discrepancies, and makes necessary adjustments or corrections to maintain product quality and integrity.
  • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions, mechanical issues, or process deviations, and performs minor repairs, adjustments, or preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maximize machine uptime.
  • Maintains accurate production records, including machine settings, downtime, production output, material usage, and quality inspection results, using paper or electronic documentation systems.
  • Follows safety protocols and guidelines when operating labeling and packaging equipment, handling materials, and performing maintenance tasks to prevent accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Cleans labeling and packaging machines, conveyors, and work areas regularly to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborates with production team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to identify process improvements, optimize equipment performance, and meet production targets.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and quality control guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and industry standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of automatic labeling and packaging equipment.
  • Familiarity with packaging materials, such as labels, containers, cartons, or bags, and the ability to load them into machine feeders or hoppers and adjust machine settings accordingly.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Minimum one to two years related outside set-up and machine operation experience required.
  • Reach truck forklift experience may be required.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
  • May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time.
