Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass has been WOWing customers with our collision repair services for over 80 years. The Auto Body Technician role focuses on meticulous assessment and high-quality repair to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition.

You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while upholding speed, quality, and customer excellence. Join a dedicated team that emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work that is necessary and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage and applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections of vehicles and replaces with new or aftermarket parts; replaces or repairs glass and windshields.
• Welds and attaches parts and prep/ repaint vehicles as needed.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
