Job summary

The Boyd Group in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition through meticulous disassembly, repair, and reassembly while upholding our speed, quality and customer-excellence standards.

You will plan repairs, estimate costs, and work with a team using plasma cutters, jacks, hammers and other tools. Weld and repaint as needed; aim for top workmanship and timeliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical school or 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates.
• Uses tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage if possible; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replaces or repairs glass and windshields as needed.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed.
• Welds and fits parts and preps and repaints vehicles to factory standards.
• Attempts to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Inspects vehicles after repair to ensure quality.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
