Qualifications

• Certification in body repair preferred.
• I-CAR welding certification required or preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Ability to pass a thorough background check.
• Experience using a frame machine is expected.
• Familiarity with measuring data and standards.

Responsibilities

• Exams damaged vehicle and plans repair process efficiently.
• Works with others on vehicle repair status and updates.
• Performs quality repairs while maintaining on-time status.
• Decides on repair vs. replacement considering safety and cost.
• Removes upholstery, components to access frames and fenders.
• Attends required safety meetings and safety practices.
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces with tools.
• Directs an apprentice and explains procedures when needed.
