Responsibilities include planning repairs, using various tools, replacing parts, welding, refinishing, and ensuring quality across the repair process. Strong reading of job orders and teamwork are essential, with a safety-conscious approach in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer is required.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
• Thorough knowledge of tools and procedures used to repair vehicle bodies.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to pre-accident condition.
• Repair dents, replace parts, and refinish with factory-specified paint or equivalents.
• Realign chassis/frames to fix structural damage and inspect equipment.
• Ensure work orders are completed within labor guidelines and verify quality after repairs.
