Job summary

CARSTAR EASTERN HILLS LLC in Amherst, NY is seeking an experienced Metal Technician to repair vehicles to pre-accident condition using APS guidelines and factory specs. The role involves structural and mechanical work, frame and measuring equipment, and collaborating with the Production Manager and Estimator.

Applicants should have 2–5 years in auto body collision repair, a high school diploma or GED, and I-CAR or ASE training preferred.

Qualifications

2-5 years auto body collision repair experience required.
High School diploma or GED required; collision tech graduate preferred.
I-CAR certification or ASE training preferred.
I-CAR welding and ASE Structural (B4) certification strongly preferred.
Experience using frame and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

Repair damaged vehicles using technical information sheets following APS in accordance with RO.
Make repair or replacement decisions concerning safety and costs.
Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and trim to access vehicle and fenders.
Perform structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement and some mechanical work.
File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces with power tools and hand tools.
Communicate with Production Manager and Estimator on repair status and supplements.
Own a set of required tools, in working order.
