Gersh Autism in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team serving students aged 5-21 in our K-12 programs. You will develop and implement individualized therapy to improve strength, balance, and activity levels, aligning with IEPs and collaborating with teachers and families.

The ideal candidate has a NY license, an advanced degree in Physical Therapy, 2+ years working with autism, and knowledge of sensory processing and CPI.

Qualifications

• MA/Doctorate's degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Active license to practice Physical Therapy in New York.
• At least 2 years of experience with individuals on the autism spectrum preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Sensory Processing and CPI.

Responsabilités

• Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student and implement them with the educational team.
• Utilize specialized techniques to help students overcome physical limitations and improve function.
• Create and maintain a safe therapeutic environment for students.
• Collaborate with parents and families to ensure continuity of care and communication.
• Work with Gersh Autism staff to provide integrated services to students.
• Continuously evaluate and adjust treatment plans based on progress and feedback.
• Stay up to date on research and developments in autism-related physical therapy.
