Overview
The Mercyhealth Autism Services team is dedicated to supporting patients ages 5-22 through individualized, one-on-one therapy. Our team works closely with patients to build essential skills, achieve personal goals, and foster growth through play-based interventions and engaging activities.
The Autism Tech, under the supervision of the Program Supervisor and/or Qualified Supervising Provider, provides behavioral services to patients in the autism program. Participates on the treatment team and carries out services as described on the treatment plan. This role includes the following duties and actively supports the mission statement of Mercy Behavioral Health Services. May include weekends, holidays, day, evening, night, and/or on-call hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education and Experience
Must complete 40 hours of specified orientation on autism and application of techniques.
Certification and Licensure
Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days
Managing Threatening Confrontations Certified (on the job training) within 90 days

Maintain a valid driver's license.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
For those driving their personal vehicles:
Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and 25 to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Occasional ability to focus is required. The employee will need to maintain current de-escalation training and utilize de-escalation techniques on a daily basis.
