Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools in Georgia seeks a highly qualified Special Education AUTISM Teacher to support students with moderate to profound needs. The educator will deliver differentiated instruction, track progress, and maintain a positive classroom climate.

Candidates must be professionally certified or have passed the GACE tests and hold Adapted Curriculum Special Education certification along with the five academic content areas. In-person, on-site duties at the assigned school.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• SRT4-Certification in Adapted Curriculum Special Education and all five Academic Content Areas (Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, English) OR GACE Basic Skills with eligibility and certified in Adapted Curriculum SPED.
• Georgia PSC Certificate of Eligibility if not issued in Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students with moderate, severe, or profound intellectual disabilities using varied instructional methods.
• Prepare lessons and adapt materials to meet IEP goals.
• Administer assessments and monitor progress to develop an IEP.
• Maintain classroom discipline and safety; manage daily activities and records.
• Coordinate conferences with parents/guardians and collaborate with staff.
