Job summary

South Florida School of Excellence seeks an autism primary teacher to provide specialized classroom instruction and develop PLPs reflected in IEPs. You will foster academic and social skill development for students on the autism spectrum and collaborate with therapists, general education teachers, and support staff.

Regular family communication is expected, with adherence to daily classroom routines and data-driven progress tracking.

Qualifications

• Experience designing lessons for students with ASD.
• Ability to monitor progress via IEP/PLP.
• Strong collaboration with teachers, therapists, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver differentiated daily lessons for ASD students.
• Write, monitor, and update IEPs/PLPs and track progress.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Communicate regularly with families about student growth and behavioral goals.
• Follow school daily routines and behavioral expectations.
• Complete daily reports and progress monitoring tasks.

Autism primary teacher provides specialized classroom instruction, develops Personal Learning Plan (PLP) reflected via Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and fosters academic and social skill development for students on the autism spectrum. Multi-integrated classroom.

Majority of students has a Behaviour therapist inside the classroom and assistant teacher.

• Instruction: Design and deliver differentiated daily lessons tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• PLP Management: Write, monitor, and update Individual Education Plans and track student progress data.
• Collaboration: Work alongside general education teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Family Communication: Maintain regular contact with parents and guardians regarding student growth and behavioral goals
• Should be able to hold 40 pounds.
• Follow School (SFSE-ASE) classroom Daily routines
