Job summary

Dallastown Area School District seeks an Autistic Support Teacher (Grades K-3) for Loganville-Springfield Elementary School, effective November 17, 2026. Under the Director of Special Education, you will plan and implement instructional programs for students on the autism spectrum to maximize learning and independence.

The role involves collaboration with grade-level staff, developing IEP-based goals, ongoing assessments, and maintaining compliant records.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.
Valid PA Instructional I or II Teaching Certificate in Special Education PK-12 or PK-8 (9226) or equivalent.
Experience working with students on the autism spectrum.
Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Willingness to be flexible in teaching assignment within the school setting.

Responsibilities

Develops and administers curriculum aligned with district goals.
Maintains a safe, supportive learning environment for individuals and small groups.
Plans lessons and instructional materials for K-3 autism support.
Teaches knowledge and skills and promotes critical thinking and problem-solving.
Conducts ongoing assessment and adjusts instruction based on IEP goals.
Keeps accurate records of student performance and attendance as required by policy.
Collaborates with grade-level staff and participates in meetings and committees.
Maintains inventory and requisitions classroom supplies.
