Job summary

Harrisburg School District is seeking a Special Education teacher to implement an elementary program that fosters learning and personal growth. You will build rapport with students, engage families, and collaborate with staff to support individual needs.

Position requires PA Special Education certification; experience with Autism Support is preferred. Location: Harrisburg area, employment under HEA contract, with standard school-year duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Valid PA teaching certificate in Special Education K-8 or K-12.
• Experience teaching Autism Support preferred.
• Strong communication with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, health, and/or science to students in classroom per PA certification.
• Develops lesson plans and adapts curriculum; uses technology and evidence-based methods.
• Establishes classroom behavior standards for safe, inspiring learning.
• Identifies student needs and collaborates with staff on social, emotional, behavioral, and academic issues.
• Creates engaging displays and learning environments.
• Administers standardized assessments and tracks student progress; maintains records.
