Life’s WORC in Babylon, NY is seeking an Autism Support Professional to provide ongoing protective oversight and implement residential plans for residents with autism. The role requires a high school diploma, one year of autism support experience, and a valid NY driver’s license.

Hours are 38 per week across specific days; the job emphasizes data-driven behavior support, daily living assistance, and training under the individual program plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year experience supporting people with Autism.
• Prior experience assisting persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid New York State Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing protective oversight to individuals living in the residence.
• Implementation of Residential Habilitation Plans.
• Implement innovative Behavior Support Plans with effectiveness and efficiency ensuring that accurate data is being collected to measure each person’s progress.
• Provide assistance and instruction to each individual in basic activities of daily living.
• Provide training and support for each individual in accordance with the individual program plan.
• Provide assistance and instruction to each individual in basic activities of daily living which could include two person lift of individuals where necessary
• Successful completion of the AMAP course and annual recertification for administration purposes.
• Successful completion of the Life’s WORC Autism Training Workshop.
• Scheduling flexibility. May be required to work beyond the normal shift.
• Drive agency vans that are equipped with GPS monitoring systems and demonstrate safe driving practices. Ensure cleanliness of vehicles. Maintain vehicle logs.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment. Proper use and maintenance of household equipment and appliances.
