Job summary

Golden Years Homemakers & Companions, Inc. seeks Autism Direct Support staff to assist clients with daily living, hygiene, communication and socialization in the Greater Hartford Area.

You will help manage behavior, teach safer alternatives, and support community outings. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid/medication administration certifications, and at least 6 months of direct autism experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR, First Aid and medication administration certifications are required.
• Direct support certified is preferred.
• Minimum 6 months direct autism experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist client in activities of daily living and personal hygiene, communication and socialization.
• Help client manage behavior and teach appropriate alternative behaviors.
• Facilitate integration and participation on community outings.
• Keep accurate time sheet logs and adhere to person-centered notes.
