Job summary

Life's WORC in Elmont, NY is seeking Direct Care Staff to support individuals with Autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities. The role is overnight, 30 hours per week, Thursday to Saturday, 11pm–9am, with schedule flexibility and potential for additional shifts.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and experience in similar settings. SCIP or AMAP certifications are preferred; driver’s license required, with training on medication administration and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience assisting persons with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or Autism.
• Ability to support people with Autism and people who may display challenging behaviors.
• SCIP Certified preferred.
• Successfully complete the medication administration (AMAP) course and annual recertification.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to learn how to document services electronically.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing oversight to people living in the residence.
• Implement Person Centered Residential Habilitation Plans.
• Provide training and support for each person in accordance with the individual personalized program plan.
• Have scheduling flexibility; may be required to work beyond the normal shift.
• Drive agency vans and demonstrate safe driving practices.
