Lifes WORC in Valley Stream, NY is seeking a Direct Care Staff member for weekend coverage. This part-time role offers pay of $21 per hour, with a possible range up to $22.57 depending on experience and qualifications.

The shift is 16 hours (Saturday and Sunday, 7am–3pm). You will provide oversight to residents, implement personalized plans, and support individuals with IDD and autism. A valid driver’s license is required.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience assisting persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or autism.
• Ability to support individuals with autism and challenging behaviors.
• SCIP certification preferred.
• Complete AMAP medication administration course and annual recertification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to document services electronically.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide ongoing oversight to people living in the residence.
• Implement Person Centered Residential Habilitation Plans.
• Provide training and support for each person in accordance with the individual personalized program plan.
• Have scheduling flexibility; may be required to work beyond the normal shift.
• Drive agency vans and demonstrate safe driving practices.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience assisting persons with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or Autism
• Ability to support people with Autism and people who may display challenging behaviors
• SCIP Certified preferred
• Successfully complete the medication administration (AMAP) course and annual recertification
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to learn how to document services electronically
• Valid Driver’s License required
