Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Substitute Teacher Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year in the Downers Grove, IL area. This per diem paraprofessional role supports students with autism and other disabilities, working closely with teachers and service providers to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small group behavioral support, applying educator-designed strategies, and documenting outcomes.

Qualifications

• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License is required.
• Experience with students with autism or disabilities preferred.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 and small group behavioral support to students with autism and/or other behavioral challenges
• Implement behavior strategies and accommodations designed by educators and behavior specialists
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment
• Support students' social-emotional and academic development
• Communicate professionally with teachers, school teams, and families
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
