Job summary

Minot Public School District is seeking a paraprofessional to assist students in classrooms with educational programs and special assignments, while supporting teachers to create a positive learning environment. The role includes supervising students, assisting with IEP tasks, preparing materials, and maintaining records with confidentiality.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree or higher with Paraprofessional certification in North Dakota; background check is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher with paraprofessional certification; equivalent combinations allowed.
• ND Paraprofessional certification required or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid may be preferred; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist MPS students in classrooms with educational programs and special assignments; assist Teachers as requested.
• Supervise and monitor students; conduct exercises to support learning objectives.
• Guide students to stay on task and alert Teachers to behavioral or learning issues.
• Assist with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and learning plans.
• Prepare, develop, and distribute classroom materials; assist with clerical tasks and record-keeping.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and district information; communicate with students and staff appropriately.
• Support interventions to improve student behavior and social skills; enforce district policies as needed.
