Job summary

Poudre School District in Colorado is seeking a paraeducator to support students in Eyestone Elementary's Center-Based Autism Program. You will assist teachers with instruction, behavior support, and daily living skills to help students access the general education curriculum.

Responsibilities include implementing interventions, supervising transitions, maintaining records, and collaborating with staff and nursing to meet individualized plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
• Experience with special needs students preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• CPI training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by implementing instruction and reinforcing learning for students with significant support needs.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and assist in crisis situations to ensure safety.
• Monitor students in classrooms and during transitions; provide supervision as needed.
• Provide hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance per health plans.
• Accommodate students with disabilities using assistive tech and communication devices.
• Maintain records on student behavior, progress, and interventions; assist with IEP-related documentation.
• Work with staff to implement behavior plans and crisis response strategies.
• Help students develop self-regulation, social interaction, and daily living skills.
• Attend specialized training and participate in staff meetings to enhance skills.
