Qualifications

• Current licensure in any special education area.
• Three (3) years of teaching experience in an area of special education.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct work with students with autism in the educational setting.
• Knowledge of programming and supports available to students.
• Understanding of policies governing students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develops, models and monitors supports for students in conjunction with the classroom teacher.
• Supports and provide feedback to teachers in designated schools.
• Training staff to improve their understanding of Autism.
• Collects and analyzes data necessary to advance supports for students.
• Works closely with related service providers and evaluators regarding processes and problem-solving.
• Supports the beliefs and commitments of the Exceptional Children’s Department
• Completes all duties assigned by the Autism Lead, Ancillary Support Specialist and Executive Director of EC
