Job summary

Rowan-Salisbury Schools in Salisbury, NC seeks an EC Specially Designed Instructional Coach to support K-12 staff in implementing SSDI within the Exceptional Children Department. Qualifications

• Valid NC teacher license in Special Education.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• Master's degree in Special Education preferred.
• 5+ years proven successful classroom experience.
• Deep knowledge of specially designed instruction in literacy, mathematics, executive functioning and daily living skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to share research-based instructional approaches and provide mentoring and coaching.
• Experience in delivering effective professional development; ability to create and conduct customized professional development.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to provide coaching, modeling and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, classroom-based support to implement specially designed instruction on IEP goals.
• Development, implementation and leading of research based professional development opportunities focused on specially designed instruction within content.
• Coaching, modeling and providing feedback for best teaching practices through demonstration lessons.
• Coaching and implementation of co‑teaching of specially designed instruction.
• Guide teachers to collect and analyze data, and develop instructional plans in response to identified student needs.
• Collaborate with District EC staff to design, implement, and assess effectiveness of specially designed instruction.
• Other duties as identified by district administration in support of the Rowan-Salisbury School System's Strategic Plan.
