Job summary

Fulton County Schools at Lake Forest Elementary seeks a paraprofessional to support students and staff in a classroom or media center. You will assist teachers, work with students individually or in small groups, and help with daily routines such as attendance, materials, and grading quizzes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with state certification and potential Dual Immersion language duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass GACE para assessment or have 60 sem hours / 90 quarter hours with a C or better; or an Associate's degree.
• Must be able to obtain Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate.
• 0–1 year experience required.
• Classroom experience and/or ability to work with children preferred.
• Excellent communication skills; able to handle confidential information.
• If in Dual Immersion, proficiency in language of instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher in preparing educational materials.
• Works individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assists with daily routines: distributing materials, attendance, grading quizzes.
• Participates in lunchroom, recess, hall monitors, and bus duties.
• Maintains bulletin boards and learning centers for instruction.
• Participates in required training related to Dual Immersion if applicable.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the administrator.
