Job summary

The Muscogee County School District in Columbus, GA is hiring a Paraprofessional, Special Education Severe & Profound to assist teachers, support instructional programs, and help students develop daily living and behavioral skills.

Required are college-hours or passing GACE, Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate, ability to lift 50 pounds, and strong communication. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with 190 work days.

Qualifications

• 60 semester hours or 100 quarter hours completed, or passing GACE Paraprofessional.
• Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate with in-service training.
• No prior experience required.
• Must meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with instructional programs per lesson plans.
• Record-keeping and data collection support.
• Assist with hall duties, bus loading/unloading as directed.
• Aid in behavior management and safety for autistic students.
• Support with daily living skills and therapy activities.
