Job summary

The Bordentown Regional School District invites applications for the anticipated Special Education Teacher position in the Autism Program. This role provides structured, individualized instruction for students with ASD in a self-contained or specialized setting, grounding instruction in ABA, DTT, TEACCH, and structured teaching approaches.

Collaborate with BCBA, therapists, and families to implement IEPs and support communication, social, behavioral, and academic growth in accordance with IDEA

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ASD characteristics, evidence-based practices, and NJ ASD frameworks.
• Familiarity with ABA including reinforcement, prompting hierarchies, data collection, and behavior management.
• Understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and NJAC 6A:14 as applicable to students with ASD.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver structured instruction for students with ASD using DTT, NDBIs, and TEACCH.
• Develop and implement programs addressing communication, social skills, academics, and adaptive behavior.
• Collaborate with BCBA, related service providers, and families to implement IEPs.
• Collect precise behavioral and academic data daily; use data to guide instructional decisions.
• Develop and implement comprehensive IEPs and participate in required meetings.
