Job summary

Harrison School District 2 is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional for the Autism Program (TAP) for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports instructional activities under licensed staff supervision and requires adherence to IEP goals and least restrictive environment planning.

The position offers an hourly pay rate of $18.60+ with an additional $1.00/hour for TAP and related programs, and involves a 183-work-day calendar with 7–7.5 hours per day as determined by the school.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years experience; experience with children with special needs preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and behavior management preferred.
• CPR and First Aid preferred.
• Core District Special Education Paraprofessional training must be acquired within 36 months of hire.
• Employee may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
• Basic knowledge of computers and office equipment.
• Basic English, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional programs and provide instructional assistance for students in individual, small and large group settings.
• Assist with data collection, updating records and documentation while maintaining student files and class records.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators and parents regarding academic and behavioral issues.
• Attend district and school in-service opportunities and committee work.
• Perform crossing guard duties and lunchroom monitor duties as assigned.
