Job summary

The Watson Institute in Bridgeville, PA is hiring a full-time special education teacher for the WISCA autism school program. The role is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and follows the school calendar, located at 230 Hickory Grade Road, Bridgeville.

Responsibilities include assessments, IEP development, curriculum planning, and collaboration with the instructional team. PA certification and classroom management are essential; minor lifting and physical activity are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• PA Teaching Certification in Special Education required.
• Highly qualified in a secondary content area (Math, English, Science) preferred.
• Two years teaching experience in special education/autism preferred.
• Willing to be trained in online curriculum and crisis management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct assessments; record and interpret assessment data.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor IEP goals and specially designed instruction.
• Plan and adapt instructional activities from curriculum.
• Support students with online and offline curriculums.
• Maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
• Utilize behavior management strategies.
