Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an Itinerant Autism Mentor to support students with autism in multiple locations. The position focuses on implementing behavior plans and providing direct care as needed in a school setting.

The role requires CPR/First Aid training, willingness to perform health care tasks, and eventual Autism Mentor certification with WV DOE. Shift is approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for about 200 days per year.

Qualifications

• Trained in or willing to be trained in nonviolent crisis intervention.
• Knowledge of behavior intervention plans and their implementation.
• CPR/First Aid training is required and willingness to perform health care tasks as designated by the nurse.
• Will pursue Autism Mentor certification with the West Virginia Department of Education.
• Must be able to attend to personal care needs including toilet needs.

Responsibilities

• Attend to personal care needs including toilet needs.
• Implement behavior intervention plans.
• Perform specialized health care procedures as designated by the school nurse.
• Possibly participate in or coordinate crisis interventions as needed.
