Job summary

LEARN Regional Educational Service Center invites applications for an Intervention Specialist at Ocean Avenue LEARNing Academy. You will implement individualized supports aligned to student IEP goals and help learners develop communication, self-advocacy, and social skills.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, nurses, and families to create structured, engaging learning environments and to use AAC and assistive technology to empower independence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits or Bachelor's degree required.
• High School Diploma and successful ParaPro Assessment accepted.
• Commitment to helping students with autism and developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Professionalism, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized supports aligned to student IEP goals.
• Help students develop communication, self-advocacy, self-regulation, and social skills.
• Support the use of AAC and assistive technology systems.
• Implement positive behavioral support strategies and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Collect student data to guide instructional decisions.
• Facilitate participation in classroom, school, community, and vocational learning experiences.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, behavior specialists, nurses, and families.
• Create engaging, structured environments that promote success and independence.
• Support students with personal care, mobility, health, and safety needs as required.
• Participate in ongoing training to strengthen your skills and expertise.
