Job summary

Developmental Associates in Columbus, OH seeks an energetic teaching assistant (tutor) to support an intervention specialist by delivering specialized curriculum to a single student at a time.

This role involves working outside traditional classrooms, building strong relationships with students and faculty, and contributing to a positive, engaging learning environment under the Ohio Autism Scholarship Program.

Qualifications

• Have earned an associate degree or higher or at least two years of study (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
• Ability to pass a state and federal background check.
• High-energy with a love of working with children.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Studies in education, social work, or psychology preferred.
• Experience with children diagnosed with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement specialized curriculum for a single student at a given time.
• Communicate with the intervention specialist and parents about scheduling, curriculum, and progress.
• Report IEP goals to the intervention specialist regularly.
• Administer baseline assessments for IEP.
• Observe students' performance and record data to assess progress.
• Implement basic behavior strategies to ensure a successful school day.
