Position

Autism Intervention Specialist – 2026–2027 school year – Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–3:30 PM – $5,000 sign‑on bonus.

Job Summary

The Autism Intervention Specialist provides individualized and small‑group academic instruction for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a structured classroom environment. The role aligns lesson plans with Ohio Department of Education content standards while integrating autism‑specific instructional strategies, behavioral supports, and visual structures. The Specialist collaborates with families, clinical staff, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitors progress using data, adjusting interventions to promote academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional growth.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Special Education preferred)
• Valid Ohio teaching license required; Intervention Specialist license highly preferred
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum preferred
• Experience supporting students with behavioral and mental health needs preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom Instruction & Lesson Planning: Deliver structured, individualized academic instruction; develop and align lesson plans with state standards; use evidence‑based autism strategies such as visual supports, routines, and differentiated instruction; maintain student work portfolios.
• IEP Development & Progress Monitoring: Participate in IEP development and strategy sheets; implement IEP goals; monitor progress using data; complete IEP progress reports and grading for report cards.
• Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities: Complete required documentation (lesson plans, incident reports, restraint reports); administer educational tests and assessments; maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with Ohio standards.
• Collaboration & Communication: Communicate weekly with parents and guardians; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists and behavioral staff; partner with agency programs to share resources; participate in daily debriefing and staff meetings.
• Student Support & Role Modeling: Promote social skills, communication, self‑care, and emotional regulation; support independence, flexibility, and problem‑solving; serve as a consistent positive role model.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure instruction and lesson plans meet state standards; use data to inform instruction; adjust IEPs and treatment plans for advocacy and progress.

Work Schedule, Pay & Benefits

• 10‑month school year schedule, paid across 12 months (June and July off)
• Licensed Intervention Specialist (Bachelor’s Level): Starting at $46,500, increases with experience
• Licensed Intervention Specialist (Master’s Level): Starting at $50,650, increases with experience
• $5,000 sign‑on bonus for Licensed Intervention Specialists

Work Environment
