Qualifications

  • Have earned an associate degree or higher or at least two years of study (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
  • Ability to pass a state and federal background check.
  • High-energy with a love of working with children.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Studies in education, social work, or psychology preferred.
  • Experience with children diagnosed with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement specialized curriculum for a single student at a given time.
  • Communicate with the intervention specialist and parents about scheduling, curriculum, and progress.
  • Report IEP goals to the intervention specialist regularly.
  • Administer baseline assessments for IEP.
  • Observe students' performance and record data to assess progress.
  • Implement basic behavior strategies to ensure a successful school day.

Job Summary

We are looking for an energetic teaching assistant (tutor) to join our team! You will be assisting the Intervention Specialist with implementing specialized curriculum to a single child at a given time. Instruction is given to children outside of traditional classroom settings, designed to best meet their needs. This job is managed through the Autism Scholarship Program through the Ohio Department of Education.
Our paraprofessionals need to be passionate about learning and love working with children. They must have strong creative and organizational skills, able to connect with individual students and develop strong relationships with faculty to create an engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Implement specialized curriculum for a single student at a given time
  • Communicate with both the intervention specialist and the students' parent(s) to best meet needs of self and student regarding scheduling, curriculum implementation, student progress, etc.
  • Report IEP goals to intervention specialist regularly
  • Administer baseline assessments for IEP
  • Observe students' performance and record relevant data to assess progress
  • Implement basic behavior strategies to ensure a successful school day
