Job summary

United Home Care is seeking an Autism Independence Program Lead to oversee a small team and help shape a new service line in Poway, CA. The role focuses on guiding staff, developing independence plans, and collaborating with families to support autistic teens and adults.

The position requires BCBA certification or equivalent, a Master’s degree in a related field, and substantial experience with high support needs and behavior intervention.

Qualifications

• 4+ years working directly with autistic individuals.
• 3+ years working with autistic teens and/or adults.
• Experience supporting individuals with high support needs and severe behaviors.
• Experience creating individualized support, behavior, transition, or life skills plans.
• Experience training, mentoring, coaching, or supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Autism Independence Specialists.
• Develop individualized independence support plans.
• Coach and mentor direct support staff.
• Collaborate closely with families.
• Support clients with moderate to high support needs.
• Help staff navigate challenging behaviors safely and respectfully.
• Participate in developing systems, training tools, and program protocols.
